Dog Friendly Caravan Parks in WA

List and Information about Pet Friendly Caravan Parks in Western Australia

If you are like me, having your dog on holiday with you adds something special to the adventure.  Sometimes this isn't practical for various reasons, such as the types of places you are visiting, or the way you are travelling, but when it suits the occasion, with the right planning, your dog can have as much fun on holiday as you can... sometimes more!

Below are details about pet friendly caravan parks in Western Australia, along with some information about things to do in the area.  Some parks may only allow a specific kind of pet- such as maybe a small dog, or a bird- and some may be more flexible in what they will accept.  Contact the appropriate caravan park hosts to discuss your particular situation.

In many caravan parks, pets are only allowed in your own accommodation- such as a tent or caravan- and not in the park cabins.  You may also find that some do not allow pets in peak periods, so make sure that you find out before travelling during these times if pets are allowed, so that you don't end up disappointed and not knowing where to try next.

Remember to be a courteous pet owner and to not allow your pet to annoy other park users such as with barking, clean up after your dog's 'bathroom breaks', and adhere to any rules about where your pet is allowed.  Do not allow dogs to run loose, as dogs may react unpredictably in strange surroundings, and you don't want to risk the heartbreak of your dog injuring anyone, especially a small child, of which there are often quite a few playing about the park.

Don't forget that some areas, such as National Parks and wildlife sanctuaries, in most cases don't allow pets.

Be aware of your pet's well-being too!  Don't leave animals shut in cars, with no ventilation, especially on warm to hot days.  Tragedies can happen very fast!  Make sure your pet always has adequate fresh water, and appropriate food when required.  When travelling, stop every couple of hours to give your dog some exercise and a drink.  If you pet suffers from travel sickness, speak to your vet prior to the holiday to find out the best, safest way to address this... however, if you are travelling a lot on the holiday, it may be kinder to find some other alternative to taking your pet with you.
